The “smallest record store in the North West” has opened shop in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, Matsuri Records.

Slated to open every Saturday and Sunday, Matsuri Records is said to specialise in “international music, reissued classics and forgotten gems,” selling both new and used vinyl.

The record shop opened for the first time on Saturday, June 3, celebrating with a launch party with local DJs and free beer.

“We are a small but mighty record store, specialising in used international releases, and a specially curated selection of some of the best releases from some of the best labels releasing music today,” say store owners Craig and Paul.

Matsuri Records also announced that the space will host parties and events in collaboration with Black Lodge Brewing, a neighbouring brewery also based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

Now encouraging punters to book events at the space and “hire our DJs”, Matsuri also offers merchandise and branded beer, and regularly hosts vinyl giveaways via the store’s Instagram page.

Matsuri also recently announced partnerships with a range of record labels, including Warp, Domino, Mr Bongo, Glitterbeat, Time Capsule, and plenty more.
