yourboykiran and Darama have teamed up to launch new imprint, Bubblin.
Intended to subvert associations of “distant, headsy and reserved” often associated with labels, Bubblin proposes to embody defining principles of “fun, approachability and quality”.
Not restricted by genre, it promises instead a “feeling” of “bass face x move your waist” – with all sonics eliciting this reaction valid in the Bubblin world.

Accompanying the label launch is V/A ‘BB001’, with contributions from Mina, Murder He Wrote, Nadī, Kaval, Gnarly, Krithi, BRAVA, Blue Canariñho and labelheads Darama and yourboykiran. Expect funky basslines, hard hitting percussives, and an overflowing of energy.
The compilation is accompanied by a comic book strip to introduce the “Bubblin universe“, with a setting of a city under an oppressive regime where a rebellion movement has started, centred around parties.
“The idea behind Bubblin was born from a personal feeling that more could be done from labels in dance music,” says Darama. “There are three main components in a release: the artist, the label and the audience. My aim is to bring these three things closer together and create an environment where all involved feel valued and comfortable to take risks. I think this is where truly innovative ideas can be pushed with everyone feeling like they’ve contributed.”
“With Bubblin, we want to better immerse listeners in a world of music,” adds yourboykiran. “Typically with labels, releases stand on their own, but we want to bring releases into an ecosystem of producers, artists, and DJs. We wanted to build a platform that has fun and approachability at its centre but is fundamentally built on a foundation of high-quality, and excellent execution.”

To celebrate the label and V/A, a launch party is set to take place on November 3 at The Marquis. You can stay up to date on this via Bubblin‘s socials.
In the meantime, you can check out ‘BB001’ now here. All proceeds from the compilation will go towards the Molham Team supporting their campaign responding to the earthquakes that affected the people of Turkey and Syria.
