The anime details the story of four alien musicians who are abducted and disguised as humans by their producer, with a subsequent rescue mission carried out by their pilot Shep.

The full film had not been previously released and was scarcely shown in cinemas, however, excerpts from it were used for the music videos for the duo’s ‘Discovery’ album — such as ‘Digital Love’, ‘Aerodynamic’, ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ and ‘One More Time’.

Interstella 555 will feature alongside other films about music legends, including a new documentary about the life and impact of the late Avicii, called Avicii – I’m Tim.

Daft Punk split up back in 2021, following a 28-year career within which they released four studio albums, as well as an extended soundtrack to sci-fi film Tron Legacy.
