Dancing Family launch family b2b party series at The Carpet Shop, Peckham

Dancing Family has announced a new event series, marking a switch up in their approach to throwing parties since kicking off four years ago.

‘Family b2bs Only’ is, as per its name, a family-first approach to promoting in which the London-based event welcomes DJs to go track-for-track in The Carpet Shop, Peckham. Whilst Dancing Family is ran by siblings, the co-founder wanted to ensure the term ‘family’ extended to beyond blood relations and welcome chosen families and relatives, too.

The first instalment takes place on May 31 and with this premise in mind, welcomes friends Angel d’Lite (pictured) b2b FAFF, siblings iona b2b calan, and partners Yohan b2b Lucia and Fita b2b LaDimi.

“We’re trying to create a space that feels more inclusive for family raving,” explains co-founder Fita. “One of the reasons that we started Dancing Family was to allow our sibling relationship to develop within the realm of the music industry.”

“Some of my fondest dancing memories have been while surrounded by people that I consider as my family. Whether it be at a wedding, a birthday or an event. When different generations come together and let go through music. Why not take this experience and introduce it to the club scene? If we’re going to speak about safe spaces, it’s important to speak about what makes us feel safe in the clubbing environment. One of those things is the people that I trust and love surrounding me. Dancing with my family.”
