Kendrick Lamar has seemingly crowned himself the victor of his beef with Drake, dropping a music video for his chart-topping diss ‘Not Like Us’.

Released last week (July 4), the triumphant visualiser was directed by Lamar himself alongside director and pgLang co-founder Dave Free, dispelling claims of a rift between the two first levelled by Drake on his diss track ‘Family Matters’.

The video featured a host of other cameos including DJ and producer Mustard (who was donning a Toronto Blue Jays cap), Californian dancer and “king of clowning” Tommy the Clown and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith.

Kendrick’s fiancee Whitney Alford and their two children also appear in the video, seemingly in response to allegations made by Drake which questioned Lamar’s relationship with Alford and accused him of domestic violence.

Elsewhere in the video, Lamar does 17 push-ups in response to Drake’s ‘Push-ups’ track, as well as doing hop-scotch while singing “A-minorrr”, and destroying an owl piñata, with a message displayed underneath saying “no OVhoes were harmed in the making of this video.”

Returning to this imagery later on, the video features an owl perched on Lamar’s arm and the closing shot featuring a caged owl as a metaphor for Drake, referencing his OVO label.

Footage from Kendrick’s Juneteenth show at Inglewood also features prominently, where he reportedly played the track five times, at an event which aimed to capture the unity of the West Coast rap scene.
