London-based community radio station NTS has made a call for mix submissions to win the chance of being broadcast on the station throughout spring.
As part of their Supporter Radio series, NTS asked for submission in the theme of ‘joy’ – “whether that’s pirate radio grime rips, ebullient gospel songs, or the distorted kicks of happy hardcore”.
“Supporter Radio returns for a new season,” they announced on Instagram earlier this week. “If you’ve ever wanted to have one of your mixes broadcast on NTS, now’s your chance.”

You must be an NTS Supporter to apply, the station has confirmed, and all entries must be made by 11:59PM on March 4, where they will then be reviewed by the NTS programming team.
According to the NTS website, submissions don’t need to be mixed: “Lots of radio shows aren’t mixed. You can just play one song after another without blending them together.”
All entries must be 60 minutes long and sent as an .mp3 file, and entrants can submit as many mixes as they like, “but please be sure to give each mix a different title”, they said.

Winning submissions will be played on NTS Radio throughout spring, the station revealed. All genres and styles of music are welcomed, as long as it “fits the theme”.
“This year we’re fed up of doom and gloom, and we want you to send us mixes based on the theme of JOY. Feel free to interpret the theme however you choose,” they said.
