Hearing health company Advanced Communication Solutions (ACS Custom) has announced a discount to its custom earplugs in awareness of National Tinnitus Week.

Starting this week, February 6 – 13, Tinnitus Awareness Week supports those affected by the condition and brings awareness to tinnitus, which is said to affect one in seven adults in the UK, per a 2018 report.

ACS has announced a 20% discount for Mixmag readers in conjunction with Tinnitus Awareness Week. The hearing health company fits in-ear monitors and earplugs to protect your hearing, creating bespoke custom fit pieces.

Prevalence of tinnitus has risen over the years, expected to rise in the coming years. According to a report using Office for National Statistics population data, an estimated 14.2 million adults in the UK will experience hearing loss greater than 25 dBHL by 2035.

The same report suggests that an estimated 1.2 million people in the UK have hearing loss greater than 65 dBHL, while over 70% of people aged over 70 suffer hearing loss.

In 2017, Resident Advisor spoke to audiologist Frank Wartinger on the importance of protecting your hearing. “Although your hearing is precious, and you don’t want to lose it, still, music is going to win out,” he said.
