Copenhagen-based DJ and producer Anastasia Kristensen christens her new label, absorb emit, with its first single, ‘Cordyceps Disco’.
‘Cordyceps Disco’ is the eponymous track of a four-part EP set to release on November 14. The tune combines AI vocals and made-from-scratch textured samples to build Kristensen an imaginary club set within a retro-futuristic utopia. The release will be marked with a music video, where Kristensen channels “exotic fungi princess vibes” in the near future.

The EP, made amidst the backdrop of constant anxiety and dystopia of the past few years, uses Kristensen’s sound design skills to transport the listener to her imagined futures. The project is the culmination of years of reflection and disillusionment with the post-pandemic world, with the title a nod to the brain-eating fungi in HBO series ‘The Last of Us’.
The DJ and producer stated that the record is a direct result of working on her mental heath, surroundings, and attitude to people.
