Avalon Emerson has launched her new project, Avalon Emerson & The Charm, alongside new single ‘Sandrail Silhouette’.

Out now, the single was produced between Emerson and London-based producer Bullion — and is the debut record for new imprint Another Dove, launched in partnership with AD93 and Whities founder Nic Tasker.

Sandrail Silhouette‘ sees Emerson explore the indie genre with a melodic guitar riff and slower drumbeat.

Posting a statement on the track and new project on Instagram she says: “To me this song is about scale and how the erosion of time can wear down old divisions and bring milestones into focus. It’s about the brevity of our lives in the shade of a 1000 year old tree.”

Emerson continues: “The seed of Sandrail was planted in LA a couple years ago, my wife Hunter strumming on her jazzmaster and me plucking some chords on a hydrasynth.

“Then last year I brought the snippets into the studio with Bullion. We stretched it out to a few minutes, added some drums and I wrote some vocal melodies and lyrical thoughts of things that were on my mind lately.

“A couple of days later, a good friend of mine from Arizona, Keivon, came into the studio to add some cello to another song. We played him the sketch and instantly he wrote the cello parts.

“After a career of making instrumental dance music primarily by myself, the feeling of Sandrail Silhouette coming together so fluidly and beautifully through collaboration between friends was immensely beautiful and inspiring.

She concludes thanking her listeners adding: “The Charm is this collaboration.”

The hazy music video has the US artist exploring the mountains of New York Catskill and was shot last autumn.
