Bang & Olufsen is selling a £45,000 CD player

The 90s classic CD player of the same name was an icon of its time, and 200 of the original units have been recalled and reworked into a more modern rendition, with certain materials replaced and renewed to meet modern standards.

One of the new functions which reflects modern capabilities is its dynamic EQ which adapts the bass function of the hi-fi system in response to the system’s positioning within the room.

Based on the concept of audiovisuality, the iconic design was originally inspired by a display in a record store window of six CDs, in 1995 Soho – an image which inspired creator David Lewis towards a system to showcase one’s music as well as just play it.
