Black Coffee is currently receiving medical treatment after he was involved in a “severe travel accident on a flight” while travelling to a show in Argentina.

The accident took place en route to the city of Mar del Plata, where he was scheduled to play an event, and has subsequently been left with several “injuries” according to his team.

“Black Coffee was involved in a severe travel accident on a flight en route to his scheduled show in Mar del Plata,” reads a statement on his social media pages, posted earlier today (January 10).

“The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries,” it adds. “We can confirm he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team.”

The GRAMMY-winning DJ and producer was scheduled to play Day Zero in Tulum, Mexico, on Friday, January 12, and a show in Istanbul alongside Pete Tong on January 13 this week.

Black Coffee’s team have confirmed that he is now receiving the “best possible” medical treatment and is “optimistic” about his recovery, asking media and fans to respect his privacy at this time.

“In respect of his privacy, we kindly request understanding and patience from the media and his fans,” the statement reads. “Despite the challenges presented, Black Coffee is optimistic and recovering well. He looks forward to being back with you soon.”
