Camden’s multipurpose venue and event space The Roundhouse is launching a brand new creative centre in amongst the venue’s existing creative campus.

Roundhouse Works is set to open next spring and promises to double the current capacity of the site to support 15,000 young people in their creative endeavours.

The new creative hub will join Roundhouse Studios, a “state-of-the-art” studio space made for young people aged between 13 – 25 featuring rehearsal rooms, podcast studios, and access to equipment for young creatives.

Roundhouse Works takes a different approach, this time catering to anyone between 11 and 30 years old looking to break into creative industries by providing special mentorship programmes and workshops.

Members will receive one-to-one mentoring, networking events, and workshops led by industry experts. Roundhouse has also unveiled its flagship Self Made Accelerator programme, in which successful applicants will be able to access the new Roundhouse Works workspace next year.

Chief Executive and Artistic Director at Roundhouse, Marcus Davey, said on the project: “The opening of Roundhouse Works is an exciting step forward in the Roundhouse’s mission to raise the UK’s creative potential.

“For decades we have been working with young people from all backgrounds, supporting them as they explore creativity and develop skills to help them thrive in the future world. Roundhouse Works will significantly increase the impact of this work, allowing us to reach more young people and provide even more opportunities for them,” he added.

The creative hub also pledges to aid those hit by the current cost of living crisis, many of whom face unemployment where one in three under 25s account for jobs lost. Roundhouse will offer “financial and pastoral assistance” in the face of the ongoing crisis.
