Google doodle pays tribute to SOPHIE on her birthday

Google has paid tribute to SOPHIE today, on what would have been her 38th birthday.

The search engine’s logo features an illustration of the late electronic music pioneer worked in, with the letters stylised in a wonky SOPHIE-esque font.

Clicking the logo then plays a 55 second-long animated tribute to SOPHIE set to the soundtrack of her 2018 track ‘Immaterial’.

The description notes: “Today’s Doodle celebrates the 38th birthday of Scottish musician, producer, and DJ Sophie Xeon (SOPHIE), who is remembered for her acclaimed experimental pop and electronic music.”
