Jamie Roy’s ‘Organ Belta’ tops Beatport chart a week after his death

The tragic news of his death was confirmed on September 21 with his family’s statement reading: “Jamie was a much loved and talented son, brother, nephew and uncle and loved by his many friends and colleagues both within the music industry and beyond that. We are all absolutely heartbroken.”

Roy was becoming an in-demand DJ on the Ibiza circuit but started off his career in the underground scene of Glasgow yet went on to play at iconic events such as Palm Tree festival in Croatia, DC-10 with Patrick Topping and Albania’s Unum festival.

His lastset was at Amnesia on August 29 alongside Gorgon City, Sonny Fodera, DJ EZ, Huxley, Danny Howard, Ango Tamarin, Jodie Harsh and Mark Knight.
