Kasra V shares new EP, ‘Flood the Club’

Kasra V has returned with his latest EP, ‘Flood the Club’.

The record does exactly that, its five tracks brimming with uniquely crafted cuts primed for dancefloor listening.

The EP’s eccentricity marries creative calculation, with the record sprinkled in elements from anthemic vocal samples, nods to 80s hedonism, utopian and psychedelic vibrations, and inspirations from groups including Meat Beat Manifesto and YMO.

“I was experimenting with a lot of different forms of art around this EP. I was drawing, collaging and also using cut up technique for vocals. Recording myself reading newspapers and then sampling myself at almost random placements. I believe being creative is like a muscle, you shouldn’t limit yourself to one art form.

“At the same time I was listening to the song ‘Flooded’ on repeat by Von Sudenfed which is a collaboration between Mark E smith and Mouse on Mars. The lyrics goes like ‘I flooded the club’ . I found different generations of music truly experimenting with sound and ideas really inspiring and decided to use it as the name for my EP.”
