Lady Leshurr charged with two counts of assault after fight breaks out in Waltham Forest

Rapper Lady Leshurr has been charged with assault after police responded to a fight in Walthamstow, East London on Saturday morning.

Police attended a call in the early hours of Saturday morning to an address in Leyton, following “reports of a fight at the location.”

Leshurr, real name Melesha O’Garro, has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

Another woman, Sherelle Smith has also been charged with one count ABH. Both women are due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Two 27-year-old women, who have not been named, were taken to hospital and have now been discharged, the Met Police said in a statement to Mixmag.

“The two women were charged after police were called at 05:08 on Saturday, October 22 to Knotts Green Mews, E10 following reports of a fight at the location.”

The Solihull-born Leshurr, who rose to prominence with her freestyle series Queen’s Speech in 2015, has previously won the MOBO award for Best Female Act, and has presented her own radio show on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

She has previously collaborated with Wiley and reportedly turned down £200k to write a diss track against Nicki Minaj.

In recent years she’s made the move to broadcasting, winning The Celebrity Circle in 2021 and appearing on last year’s series of Dancing on Ice.
