Lefto Early Bird has released his first full-length on Gilles Peterson’s London label Brownswood Recordings.

After teasing listeners with singles from the upcoming release, the 10-track album, ‘Motherless Father’ landed earlier this month, March 8.

The DJ is hosting several album launch parties across Paris, Belgium and London to celebrate the new record.

Like the titles of the tracks, the album is introspective and poetic, from the spoken word of ‘Love Supreme’ (Pt.1 and 2) to the spaced-out synths of ‘The Birth of a New You’ (feat. Pierro Spataro) and cinematic saxophone on ‘I Sing To Find Peace Of Mind’ (feat. Simbad).

‘Motherless Father’ draws heavily from Jazz featuring electronic elements, live instruments and both naturalistic and distorted vocals

In a statement shared with Mixmag, Lefto described the release as “a deep pre-club record that will give you the energy to go out there and party but with a feeling of letting go of everything.”

Motherless Father‘ features a number of collaborations including work from vocalist Iman Houssein who draws on traditional folk songs, German duo aint about me and DJ/multi-instrumentalist Simbad, who shared to Instagram that saw Lefto put “his heart & soul” into the record.
