MAKING TIME ∞ announces return to Philadelphia’s Fort Mifflin in September

Making Time ∞ festival – the event headed by Philadelphia’s Dave P – has announced the programme for its third edition taking place between September 22 and 24 at the city’s Fort Mifflin.

Over 100 artists are scheduled across the weekend, with headliners including Jamie xx, Helena Hauff, Overmono, Octo Octa and Eris Drew and DJ Koze.

Also on the billing are names including DJ Nobu, Avalon Emerson, DJ Python, UNIIQU3, Ben UFO, Optimo, Maurice Fulton, Objekt and Young Marco. Locals are also, naturally, included, inclusive of Mary Lattimore and Making Time regulars Roman Flügel and DJ Tennis.

“Dave P was the very first person to book me in America and we’ve been close friends since,” explains friend of the festival, Daniel Avery. “The festival at Fort Mifflin was the culmination of everything I love about him: an event made with pure passion, respectful to everyone inside, artistic endeavours placed way above monetary gains. The kind of event everyone there will remember. That’s the way it should be.”

The festival site, Fort Mifflin, is equally as expansive as its lineup. Curated by partner Klip Collective, buildings dating back to the 1700s are projection mapped, with the site’s moats, casemates, buildings and bounds being converted into psychedelic spaces.

“We’re using the space and bringing it to life in interesting ways,” says principal of Klip Collective Ricardo Rivera. “It really is a celebration of the independent spirit. We don’t have a lot of resources, but we have all these huge ideas. [Dave] and I both have that Philly chip on our shoulders. If we’re going to do this, we are going to go all in.”

“Fort Mifflin is such a special place,” adds founder Dave P. “There’s so much space and freedom to be as creative as possible. I was able to book so many of my favourite artists, so many of the greatest futuristic musical pioneers of our time, from all ends of the futuristic musical spectrum. I can’t do that at a club. I could only do that here and it has been so much fun!”
