A 23-year-old man has been stabbed to death on the dancefloor of Birmingham nightclub Crane [pictured],
The incident took place inside the club at around 11;45PM PM on Boxing Day, December 26, at party headlined by Italian techno DJ Marco Carola which had begun at 3:PM.
Attempts were made to save his life, but he was pronounced dead around 30 minutes later.
A murder investigation has been launched by West Midlands Police to investigate the fatal incident.
Police are viewing CCTV footage from the nightclub and have urged eye witnesses to come forward with information.
“This was a young man enjoying himself with friends on a Boxing Day night out,” said Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood said.
“We know there were hundreds of people in the nightclub at the time,” she added. “While we’ve spoken to a number of them already, we still need to hear from anyone who was there and who witnessed or even filmed what happened.”
CRANE recently reopened in October this year following an extended period of close for renovation. It first launched back in 2017.
The venue has shared a statement on Instagram, writing: “We are all deeply shocked and saddened a man lost his life last night as our Boxing Day event came to a close. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family and friends.”
