Friday Night House Call

Presented by RM

Friday Night House Call is a two-hour journey through different subsets of House Music. Using legendary clubs, trailblazing DJs, and specific genres as a weekly jumping-off point, Friday Night House Call is a fun trip through the different styles of House.

Growing up in Texas, I was introduced to what we called “Club Music” in my teens where 12-inch, extended versions of pop hits, industrial tracks, and new wave were the currency of the sound. Fast forward to my early 20s and my immersion into the rave culture in Austin, TX got me hooked on the sounds of Detroit Techno, Acid House, and early Techno from Europe and the culture of underground dance. Moving to Los Angeles in the mid-90s, I spent in the LA underground scene with DJs such as Marquis Wyatt, Doc Martin, and Jason Bentley being the vanguard of that scene. Then life intervened. Despite career, distractions, and diversions, my love of electronic and, particularly, House Music never waned.

Cut to 2020 and the pandemic. With a lot of time on my hands, I picked up the Denon MC4000 controller and I was hooked again. Looking for some guidance, I stumbled across Club Ready DJ School and Andrew Duffield and I was hooked. Since then I’ve been playing steadily with Friday Night House Call on www.clubreadyradio.com. I hope to take my audience on a fun ride of tracks inspired by the people and places I consider influences. As true then as it is today, House Music All Life Long.
