Migos member Takeoff has been shot dead in Texas, reports TMZ.

The murder of the 28-year-old rapper is said to have taken place at a Houston branch of 810 Billiards & Bowling around 2:30AM this morning, when shooting broke out over a game of dice.

Videos and images posted on social media appear to show the aftermath of the violence, with fellow Migos member Quavo also at the scene. He was not injured.

They were out celebrating the birthday of music executive J. Prince, the CEO of Houston label Rap-A-Lot.

Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, grew up in Lawrenceville alongside fellow Migos members Quavo, his uncle, and Offset, his cousin.

The group formed in 2008 and released four albums, including the chart-topping ‘Culture’ and GRAMMY-nominated ‘Culture II’ in 2017 and 2018 respectively, which featured hits such as ‘Bad and Boujee’, Stir Fry’ and ‘MotorSport’.

The trio starred in short film Bando in 2014, and also appeared in an episode of Donald Glover’s FX comedy-drama Atlanta in 2016.

Takeoff also had a successful solo rap career, releasing his debut album ‘The Last Rocket’ in 2018, and this year released a collaborative album with Quavo called ‘Only Built for Infinity Links’, amid rumours of Migos breaking up, which the group denied.
