A new multi-level nightclub is opening up in the Vietnam capital of Hanoi, Unmute.

Able to host up to 300 people, the venue founded by Lam Dao alongside Jiro Endo as architecture curator consists of two spaces: Cuốn Club Room on the fourth floor and Tan Bar on the two floors above.

The venue’s Cuốn Club Room aims to host “new sound textures that are versatile, genre-free, and dancefloor-focused”, with a selection of resident DJs and artists taking the reins each event.

The club space, situated inside a 24-hour fruit and vegetable market, offers a spring-loaded surface that embraces every dancer’s movement and delivers a balanced soundstage throughout the room via its custom 4-way soundsystem developed with Mark Own Audio.

Musically, the Hanoi-based club explores a vast spectrum of sound based on electronic dance music, encompassing genres ranging from techno, house, and disco.

The roster includes Viet Anh (a pivotal contributor to collectives like Studio Adventure), Anh Vy (of The Observatory and the newest member of Atipik Collective), the club’s founder himself, Lam Dao, plus modular synth designer-slash-techno producer, Quan — a prominent figure in shaping Vietnam’s experimental electronic music scene.

“With ears for warmth and nuances, we are also keen on hosting new sound textures that are versatile, genre-free, and dance floor focused,” the club expressed in a press release.

“Sonically, Unmute believes that pushing boundaries can give music a true voice and deliver beautiful party experiences,” it adds.

Unmute was soft-launched in August and has swiftly filled its programming calendar until the year’s end. Keep up with their schedule by following the club on Instagram here.
