A new party is launching this week in Ibiza from local radio OpenLab, OffBeat.

The event will be running every Friday at the industrial, 500-capacity space NUI, located within the Art District on the outskirts of Ibiza Town.

To celebrate the launch, OpenLab have enlisted Cinthie, Ralph Lawson, Pascal Moscheni, Alex Wolfenden and Tin Tin to perform at the opening party on Friday.

Future line-ups have also been revealed, with the likes of DJ Python, Sofia Kourtesis, Daniel Avery, Optimo (Espacio), Paula Tape, Peach, Call Super and plenty more expected to appear on the White Isle.

OffBeat’s event page outlines that its mission is to “bring back the avant-garde eclecticism for which Ibiza first became famous.”

It hopes to provide a “home” for artists and clubbers to experience extended sets and visual arts as well as be “part of an event where music curation, artistic freedom and an inclusive policy sit centre stage.”

OpenLab radio have a similar mission by airing alternative DJs since 2013 when it was created by the late ’90s trance pioneer Robert Miles.

The local station will continue to air online and on 106.4 FM in Ibiza and Formentera.

“With OffBeat, we wanted to shake things up a little and offer a fresh experience, reminiscent of Ibiza’s original eclectic vibe that has somewhat faded over the years,” OpenLab’s Quentin Chambers told Resident Advisor.

“We’ve brought together revered cult selectors, some of who have grown disenchanted with Ibiza’s clubbing scene over time, and paired them with some of the most exciting emerging talents, many of whom will be making their debut at OffBeat,” Chambers added. “But that’s not all. We’ve chosen a venue for the night that breaks the mould of what you typically expect in Ibiza.”
