Tatie Dee has dropped her debut EP via Friendsome Records, ‘Purple Wave’.

The long-awaited release follows the occasional single drop via a range on both French and international imprints, and takes the listener on an acid-fuelled journey consisting of jumpy and glitchy melodies, intense beats and suspense-filled drops.

On the A-side, expect to find an oscillation between classic house and contemporary, groove-infused acid, before the B-side opens with a remix of track ‘Take Me Up’ by the legendary Mr G.

The record ends with ‘OMZ’, which is dubbed to showcase “the dirty side” of Tatie Dee.

“‘Purple Wave’ is the fruit of my first musical writings; of my first experiments towards sounds that resonate a lot in me, are those of Acid-House,” Dee explains. “It is also the desire to make people dance that has guided my composition, so if I navigate between more or less solar universes, groove is the common thread of the EP.”

Starting to DJ and grow her vinyl collection in 2018, Dee started producing soon after, founding podcast Battements Par Meuf (“beat per girl”) and estavlishing collective Tout Feu Tout Femme, highlighting womxn musicians of her Lille origins.

Her production sound – influenced by her authentic engagement in music more broadly since the age of six – has evolved to mould together tinges of acid house, italo and garage.
