TIBASKO have shared their new single, ‘Must Be Right’.

The release comes after the duo’s hugely successful, energetic ‘Hawt’, following suit in its euphoric nature with a summer-ready kick from beginning to end.

Affirming themselves as a genre-spanning, exploratory duo, ‘Must Be Right’ is a breakbeat cut with a subtly layered and pitch-shifted vocal throughout. The low level bass and forthright drumbeats give way to rippling strings, curating a euphoric release from the pair.

“Over the last year we’ve been slowly teasing ‘Must Be Right’ in our sets to the point where it has become an overall staple track that we know will elevate the dance floor,” explains Andy of the duo. “Having turned heads like HAAi, Bklava and I.JORDAN, people who we deem to be pioneers in the electronic industry we can see this doing so much damage in the raves.

“If you’re an avid sample digger like us, you might recognise the R&B sample on ‘Must Be Right’,” Ken continues. “We’ve been sitting on this sample – Cherish’s ‘Killa’ – for quite some time and it just melded perfectly with this track that we made in one afternoon. We wanted to incorporate more unique sounds to the track, so we’ve actually used a rare drum machine, the Mode Machines ADX-1, to create those hard hitting analog drums that drive the energy of the track. Fun fact, it took us months to hunt for this particular drum machine as it’s discontinued, only to find one in some random shop in Vietnam so we had it ordered to the UK.”

TIBASKO are set to head on their springtime tour across the UK and Europe, playing venues in Paris, Berlin, London, Prague and Budapest. Lined up to play alongside names including Barry Can’t Swim, O’Flynn, LP Giobbi, Salute, TAAHLIAH and more, the duo have teased that more dates are set to be announced.
