Mixmag has an opening for a new junior role in our content team.

We’re looking for candidates with a passion for: Videography, Design, Editing, Animation.

As part of this team you will work passionately to shoot, edit, grade, design, and release Mixmag content, from live streams, to documentaries, from short form video, to animations.

With over 1.6m YouTube subscribers, 2.4m Facebook followers, 2.8m TikTok and 900k IG followers the content you help make will be viewed by millions of people.

The role will place you right in the epicentre of the music industry, whether that be working closely with artists, delivering branded content to a tight brief, and working closely with the journalists of the world’s most respected dance music media brand.

Skills required:

Editing:

Extremely competent on Premiere Pro: ability to manage and organise multiple ongoing projects. Understanding of narrative flow and ability to cater it to a brief. Ability to turn edits around in a very quick time frame. Edits will vary from short documentaries, to snappy behind the scenes to hour long live streams.

Design:

Experience as a multimedia designer. Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Cinema 4D. A clear understanding of typography, layouts, brand guidelines and grid systems and photo retouching.

Lighting:

Excellent knowledge of how to creatively light interviews, green-screens and real life situations

Cameras:

Fully competent with an array of cameras and lenses (we currently use Sonys).

Attention to the organisation and care of the camera kit.

Animation:

A good knowledge of After Effects The ability to make simple yet effective motion graphics, text and intro animations for content strands. You will animate flyers, covers and logos.

Grading:

A knowledge and love of grading – you may be grading 2+ videos a week.

Organisation:

You will have multiple projects on the go across multiple disciplines. You may be grading in the morning, shooting in the afternoon, editing in the evening, so it’s important you are super organised with your files and projects.

Endurance:

Often gig shoots will finish in the early hours of the morning. Shoots may be at weekends or in evenings.

Application & initiative:

We appreciate that some of these areas may be stronger than others but will expect you to use your own initiative to consistently improve your skills in each area and and stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail is key.

Other good but not essential skills: Drone licence, Driving licence

While a passion for music is of course most welcome, our main interest is that you have a passion for all things video and design.
